ARCHERY: East Elementary, Vinemont Middle, West Point High earn team crowns at Cullman County Championships

The 2019 Cullman County Archery Championships wrapped up at Fairview High School on Wednesday.

And three deserving champions were crowned.

East Elementary, Vinemont Middle and West Point High took home the team titles following the two-day event, which took place inside Joe Shults Gymnasium.

East Elementary secured 3,122 points at the National Archery in the Schools (NASP) competition.

Vinemont (3,110) snagged second followed by Hanceville (2,794), West Point (2,613), Welti (2,522) and Fairview (2,292).

Jill Blocher (268), Jaden Judkins (266), Karli Jo Ballenger (263), Sarah Spann (263), Maddie Seidel (262), Sophia Helms (261), Joshua Au (260), Reed Flores (259), Aubrey Corry (258), Emmaline Powell (256), Camp Smith (254) and Mercedes Wilhite (252) delivered the top 12 scores for East Elementary.

Vinemont (3,365) took home the top honors in the middle school competition.

Cullman (3,325) finished second followed by Fairview (3,021), West Point (3,012), Holly Pond (2,988), Good Hope (2,797) and Hanceville (2,750).

Dawson Wilhite (290), Savannah Mann (289), Logan Ford (282), Trinity Sartin (281), Symon Joiner (281), Kennedy Byer (280), Mildred Lemus (279), Alexis Sartin (279), Bella Gingrich (278), Ashton Kelley (277), Tai Shurtleff (276) and Rylan McRae (273) provided the 12 highest totals for the Eagles.

Wilhite and Mann were the top male and female archers across all divisions.

West Point (3,305) finished ahead of the pack in the high school competition.

Cullman (3,282), Vinemont (3,216), Good Hope (3,188) and Holly Pond (3,015) were next in line.

Lily Owens (284), Sarah Hudson (282), Shay Sellers (282), Cameron Haynes (279), Ronnie Gentry (276), Matthew Dunagan (275), Lauren Taylor (273), Skyler Rittenberry (273), Emma Tucker-Hillman (272), Carter Duke (272), Mackenzie Tidwell (272) and Marshal Doherty (265) came up with the best 12 performances for the Warriors.

The NASP State 3D/IBO Tournament is scheduled for Friday and Saturday at the Civic Center.
