CULLMAN COUNTY VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT: Fairview, West Point dominate on Day 1; Good Hope, Vinemont remain in hunt for title

VINEMONT — Fairview and West Point made short work of their respective opponents, while Good Hope and Vinemont kept their championship dreams alive following critical victories during Day 1 of the Cullman County Volleyball Tournament.
Cold Springs, Hanceville and Holly Pond were all eliminated on Monday after two losses.

The second-seeded Lady Aggies eased past No. 7 Hanceville (25-3, 25-1) and No. 3 Cold Springs (25-16, 25-15) to improve to 41-12 this season.
Fairview, which is seeking its third straight county title, will play top-seeded West Point — the Lady Warriors (35-4) defeated No. 4 Good Hope 25-13, 25-12 — on Tuesday at 4 p.m.
The winner will advance to the title tilt, which is slated for 6 p.m.
Good Hope, which squeaked by No. 6 Holly Pond (26-24, 26-24), will kick things off with No. 5 Vinemont, which eliminated Cold Springs (25-22, 25-16), at 3 p.m. The winner of that matchup will then go up against the loser of Fairview/West Point at 5 p.m. to see which team would secure the other spot in the championship match.
In opening-round action, Good Hope bested Vinemont (25-17, 25-19), while Cold Springs defeated Holly Pond (26-24, 25-17).
Holly Pond then eliminated Hanceville (25-3, 25-10).
