Jake Harper didn’t mind the downpour last Friday night.
In fact, the Fairview running back overcame those sloppy playing conditions to notch 309 yards and three touchdowns on 15 carries in his team’s 28-6 win over Ardmore. The junior also netted five tackles on defense to help the Class 5A No. 5 Aggies improve to 3-0.
For the season, Harper has ran for 552 yards on 32 carries — an average of 17.25 yards per tote. He also has eight scores.
Harper is The Times’ Athlete of the Week.
Athlete of the Week, which is sponsored by Mitch Smith Chevrolet, is open to all local athletes.
