ASWA RANKINGS: Good Hope’s boys rise to 8th in Class 4A poll

Good Hope’s varsity boys leaped to eighth in Class 4A when the Alabama Sports Writers Association released its latest high school basketball rankings on Wednesday night.
The Raiders (20-5), who won their first Cullman County Basketball Tournament title since 2010 last Saturday, had spent the previous two weeks unranked after debuting at No. 9 in early January.

Hanceville (20-5), which lost to Good Hope in the championship game, dropped two spots to seventh in the 3A rankings.
On the girls side, all three ranked local teams fell one position in their respective classifications.
Cullman (22-7) went from seventh to eighth in 6A, West Point (23-4) went from eighth to ninth in 5A and Cold Springs (21-6) went from fourth to fifth in 2A.
