Cold Springs' Landyn Freeman.

Cold Springs’ Landyn Freeman is off to a hot start this season.

And so, too, are the Eagles — thanks in no small part to Freeman’s contributions.

The senior collected 12 points in a 50-43 win over Meek, 24 points in a 48-46 win over Corner and 18 points in a 61-58 win over Hanceville to help Cold Springs win the 36th annual Hanceville Thanksgiving Tournament last week.

He also pitched in 15 points for the Eagles (6-2) in Tuesday’s area win over Southeastern.

Freeman is The Times’ Athlete of the Week.
