LOCAL SPORTS: Good Hope’s Bagwell named Athlete of the Week
Published 12:51 pm Thursday, September 26, 2024
Landon Bagwell has been a defensive menace all season — and last week was no exception.
The Good Hope senior corralled 14 tackles (three for loss) to help the Raiders beat Cordova 21-0 and improve to 4-0 overall.
Bagwell now has 63 tackles through four contests to anchor a Good Hope defense that ranks No. 1 in Class 4A and No. 4 in the state in points per game allowed (4.0). That number trails only Thomasville, Clay-Chalkville and Southern Choctaw.
He is The Times’ Athlete of the Week.
Athlete of the Week, which is sponsored by Mitch Smith Chevrolet, is open to all local athletes.
