Kyli Armistead booted the lone goal for the Lady Warriors.

Fairview’s boys, meanwhile, picked up a 6-0 victory against Good Hope.

Luis Cortes and Jaxxon Swann scored two goals apiece, while Will Butler and Ricardo Medina each netted one.

Bailey Byrd claimed an assist, and Mason Roberts picked up the shutout.

Coach Nick Feldner offered his thoughts on the successful day.

“I witnessed a lot of fun, competitive soccer among our county schools, and it excites me to see the potential growth of the sport in the area,” he said. “With all the rain cancellations that all spring sports are experiencing right now, it was just nice to get back on the field and play. The boys really started to put everything together, and it just clicked at the right time. We had great possession and made some really good decisions against two hard-nosed opponents. I’m so proud of this group of seniors and glad they got to celebrate another first for the program. The girls have been struggling to find a rhythm in transition all season, and they were able to connect and see some shots find the back of the net. West Point has so much talent on its young team and plays with the competitiveness of a well-seasoned group. Physical play doesn’t usually favor us, but I was proud to see the effort and boldness to step up to the opposition. I think the girls matured a lot in that game. After the excitement of the big weekend wears off, I’ll be curious to see if we can build on that momentum. All smiles in the Fairview family, but an even bigger one in the Cullman soccer community.”
