PREP BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: Good Hope defeats West Point 59-52 to win tournament title

Good Hope’s varsity boys downed West Point 59-52 on Saturday to take home the West Point Christmas Tournament title.
Cole Maddox delivered a game-high 26 points for the Raiders (11-3), while Drew Maddox (14) and Noah Fendley (nine) also chipped in offensively.

“I love this team,” coach Drew Adams said. “They’re not only a joy to coach, but they’re a joy to be around every day. I’m very proud of their effort and how tough they played the last two days without Michael Lowe. This isn’t the trophy we ultimately want, but we’ll certainly take these three wins. We appreciate coach (Randy) Jones and staff being such hospitable hosts and putting on another great tournament.”
The Warriors dropped to 8-10 this season following the loss.
Rylan Jones paced West Point with 12 points.
Kolton Sapp (nine) and Tyler Thompson (eight) were next in line offensively.
% Cullman 81, Hayden 73: Tucker Gambrill (25), Jayden Sullins (19) and JT White (14) lifted the Bearcats to a win on Saturday.
Sullins racked up 11 assists as well to notch a double-double.

Cullman is now 13-4 this season.
% Cold Springs 60, Danville 51: The Eagles capped off tournament play on Saturday with a win to improve to 11-7 this season.
Landyn Freeman (19), Adam Hill (17) and Brody Peppers (12) provided double-digit efforts for Cold Springs. Mason Harris also pitched in with nine points.
% Good Hope 65, Hayden 55: The Raiders advanced to the title tilt with a win on Friday.
Cole Maddox had 24 points. Noah Fendley and Drew Maddox added 18 and 12, respectively.
Glencoe Christmas Tournament
% Holly Pond 72, Ohatchee 65: Kyler Chaney (24) and Isaac Ludwig (21) propelled the Broncos to a victory over the Indians on Saturday.
Tyler Boatright also secured 15 points for Holly Pond, which improved to 10-8 this season.
% Holly Pond 42, Ohatchee 33: The Lady Broncos garnered a win on Saturday.
Maddie Heatherly (10) and Sarah Finley (nine) were the top contributors for the Lady Broncos (7-10) in the matchup.
Six other players scored at least three points for Holly Pond.
