Addison's Abbie Chambless

Addison’s Abbie Chambless is The Times’ Athlete of the Week.

Here’s why.

The senior volleyball standout contributed 25 kills, 16 digs, five blocks and two aces in two matches to help the top-ranked Lady Bulldogs capture a Class 1A, Area 12 Tournament crown before corralling 46 kills, 38 digs, 19 blocks and nine aces in four matches at the North Super Regional Tournament — where Addison racked up its fifth title in six seasons and 16th straight state tournament appearance with a tremendous performance.

Not too shabby … and every bit deserving of this week’s honor.

Savannah Manley, Allie Chambless, McKenzie Berry, Kendra Tyree, Destiny Walker, Cecilee Gaither and Tess Alves also played crucial roles for coach Kayla Woodard’s squad during the week.
