LOCAL GOLF: Wallace State’s Lacasse wins Buck Shear Memorial title

Brandon Lacasse fired a 4-under par round of 68 on Sunday to notch the Buck Shear Memorial title at Cross Creek Golf Course.
The Wallace State golfer, who shot a 69 on Saturday, won the annual tournament by a whopping 10 shots. Chase Kennedy (147) was second followed by Bill Griffin and Thomas Gevas (149) in third. Cole Pearson and Jeremy Willingham (151) compiled the remaining scores in the championship A flight.

Jacob Pair (144) picked up the top prize in the championship B flight, while Fairview’s Hunter McKelvy (150) did the same in the first flight. Wade Casey and Tommy Byrd (163), meanwhile, shared the trophy in the second flight. Cody Calvert (171) tallied his solid performance in the third flight.
Griffin (Senior) and Bob Kurtz (Super Senior) won their respective divisions as well. Kurtz finished with a two-day total of 158.
