Two local athletic programs recently established new head coaches.

Addison hired former Cold Springs standout Triston Chambers as the school’s new varsity boys basketball coach.

Chambers, who finished his prep career with 2,996 points and was named the Class 2A boys Player of the Year following his senior season, played collegiately at Samford and UAH. He replaces Scott Flynn.

Cullman, meanwhile, tapped Jessica McBrayer as the school’s interim softball coach. 

McBrayer also serves as the school’s varsity girls hoops coach, a position she started last year following six seasons as Wallace State’s women’s basketball coach. 

She replaces Lawayne Morton.

Both teams reached the playoffs last season.
