Published 5:17 pm Monday, October 3, 2016

Vinemont's Garrett Boland — The Cullman Times' Athlete of the Week.

Garrett Boland has been an absolute stud for Vinemont’s football team all season long.

Now, the senior quarterback is The Times’ Athlete of the Week.

Boland had a huge hand in bringing the Eagles back from a two-touchdown hole on Friday night, scoring via a late 23-yard run to hand his squad a 35-28 homecoming victory over Priceville.

The dual-threat athlete finished the night with four total touchdowns (32-yard run, 1-yard run and 52-yard pass to Nate England) and 380 total yards (142 rushing and 138 passing) as the Red and White earned their second win of the fall. He also had a 2-point conversion carry and six tackles on defense.

Boland and the Eagles will look to improve their potential playoff standing this Friday against J.B. Pennington.
