Goody’s in Gardendale reopening in new location

Goody’s is set to open March 9 at 1022 Main Street, where Peebles is currently located.

Stage Stores, the parent company of both stores, purchased the rights to the Goody’s name in 2009. The Goody’s in Gardendale, formerly located at the Northgate Village Shopping Center, closed in February 2009, according to a spokesperson at Gardendale City Hall.

Alan Hall, executive director of the Greater Gardendale Chamber of Commerce, said Peebles will close on March 5 and the store will re-open four days later under the Goody’s name.

The chamber will host a ribbon-cutting on March 9 at 8:45 a.m. The doors will open to the public at 9 a.m.
