Hayden mom turns hobby into business

You Name It is located at 205 State Hwy. 160 adjacent to Logan’s General Store.

A Hayden woman has taken her hobby and turned it into a business.

About eight years ago, Angie Pressnell asked her mother to teach her to sew.

“When I had my second child, I used to see all the cute handmade things, but they were so expensive,” Pressnell said. “I knew there was no way I could afford to buy them.”

When Pressnell was a child, her mother made all of her clothes. After learning to sew for her own child, Pressnell then turned around and began to sell some of the items she made.

For seven years, she ran a business out of her house. It was called Froofroo For You Boutique until she changed the name two years ago to You Name It.

On Nov. 7, she moved the business to 205 State Hwy. 160, adjacent to Logan’s General Store.

Pressnell said she is pleased with business so far; she said the store had a busy Christmas shopping season.

The store offers monogramming, hand made children’s clothing, personalized gifts, baby items and more. She said there will soon be a big inventory of Valentine items.

Pressnell said the business will soon begin to stock more adult clothing.

She does all of the sewing herself.

“I pretty much make everything,” she said. “I basically sew seven days a week.”

Pressnell said she works to make handmade items affordable for families.

“That’s why I started — I couldn’t afford to buy the things I wanted,” she said. “When I started selling clothes I wanted them to be in a price range where people could afford them.”

Pressnell and her husband Bryan live in Hayden. He owns a civil engineering business called Pressnell Engineering. They have three children; a son age 10 and two daughters, ages 8 and 5.
