Prayers for family of beloved ‘Can Man’

Our community is deeply saddened at the loss of A.J. Miller, who was more commonly known as “The Can Man.” Miller collected cans around the Gardendale area. Mr. Miller’s funeral was Saturday morning at Gardendale Funeral Home. Our prayers are with Mrs. Miller as she deals with this great loss.

• Happy Grandparent’s Day tomorrow to all of the grandparents out there. I especially want to say thank you to my grandpa and my granddaddy for always being there for me. I love you.

• Happy belated birthday to my pastor, Larry Dodd on Sept. 7. I hope you have a wonderful year.

• Happy two year anniversary to Jonathan and Jennifer Fox on Sept. 7.

• Today is the Shaver family reunion at Lee’s Chapel Baptist Church. It will start at lunch time. There will be plenty of food and fellowship.

• Happy birthday on Sept. 17 to Silas Clayton. He is turning five years old. Silas is the brother of Paul and Luke and the son of Tim and Joy Clayton.

• Please be in prayer for Steve Knox and his family during his time of illness. We wish you a speedy recovery and love you very much.
