Is it or isn’t it? IGA rumors fly

“If they do close, I’d hate to see them go,” said Blount County resident Robert Peeples, as he read a sign at the IGA MarketPlace grocery store in Kimberly.

Like many others, Peeples has heard rumors that the store might be closing soon. The rumors come in the wake of dwindling stock, an earlier closing time and a sale that grants 30 percent off everything in the store to customers who pay with cash.

Store owners Daniel Stone and Tracy Crane would not confirm if the store is closing, but said they will provide more information next week.
