Cullman area students were recently recognized during the Alabama Cattlemen’s Foundation Scholarship Banquet Friday, May 3, in Wetumpka.

Annalee Allen, daughter of Kevin and Brandy Allen, was awarded the Tagged for Greatness Scholarship. Allen will graduate from Cullman High School and attend Wallace State Community College to pursue a degree in Poultry Science Pre-Veterinary Medicine.

Crimson Wright was also awarded the Tagged for Greatness Scholarship. He is the son of Chad and Gidget Wright. Wright will graduate from Fairview High School and attend Auburn University to pursue a degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Rex Harrison was awarded the High School Attending Two-Year Scholarship. Harrison is the son of Mike and Maria Harrison. Harrison will graduate from Holly Pond High School and attend Fort Scott Community College to pursue a degree in Farm and Ranch Management.

These students were three of 113 scholarship recipients awarded more than $110,250 in scholarship by the Alabama Cattlemen’s Foundation. The ACF serves to engage in educational and scientific activities to improve the beef cattle industry in Alabama and educate youth on the importance of beef cattle in Alabama. It provides the opportunity to make tax deductible donations for the educational work of the foundation and is largely funded by the sale of the “Cowboy Tag” vanity license plate.

Throughout the year, the ACF supports numerous organizations and events which help to educate and train future generations of the livestock industry. The ACF has awarded scholarship money each year to Alabama youth with more than $1.2 million being awarded to date.
