Cullman residents will have the chance to see a flyover from the Alabama Air National Guard Tuesday as part of the nationwide salute to those who are fighting against COVID-19.
A KC-135R Stratotanker aircraft from the 117th Air Refueling Wing will be flying over Cullman Regional at around 12:32 p.m. as part of a flyover that also includes hospitals in Huntsville and Birmingham as part of the nationwide Air Force Salutes Flyover under Operation American Resolve.
The purpose of the mission is to salute health care workers, first responders, essential employees and others serving to support COVID-19 response efforts.
Residents around the hospitals listed above will be able to see the flyover from the safety of their homes and should maintain all social distancing guidelines during this event. They should also refrain from traveling to landmarks, hospitals and gathering in large groups to view the flyover.
