Members of the Gardendale Historical Society, descendants of John Belcher and others braved the rain on Friday to attend a dedication ceremony for the John Belcher Cemetery off of Snow Rogers Road.
Participating in the ceremony were Gardendale Mayor Kenny Clemons; Bernie Belcher of Huntsville, who grew up in Mt. Olive and is a descendent of John Belcher; Patsy Duncan, historian of the Gardendale Historical Society and a descendent of John Belcher; and Kermit Dooley, second vice president of the society.
