County schools planning out-of-state travel

The Cullman County School Board has approved several out-of-state field trip requests.
The requests included Cold Springs, Fairview, West Point High Schools FCCLA programs travelling to Louisville, Ky. on Nov. 9 for the National FCCLA Cluster Meeting, a trip by the Holly Pond High School FBLA to Nashville, Tenn. on Nov. 14, a Parkside field trip to Washington D.C. from May 6-10, a visit to Chattanooga, Tenn. by Vinemont Elementary and Hanceville High School’s FCCLA traveling to Chicago, Ill.

Approved the following 2018-19 Afterschool Programs and Personnel.
Approved 2018-19 Tutoring Program and Personnel.
Approved a request from Fairview Middle School to pay the following $400 each for completing athletic duties for the 2018-19 school year, paid by local school funds: Kenny Griffin, Linda Chapman.
Approved a request from Fairview High School to pay the following non-faculty coaches for summer workouts, paid by Fairview High School Football Boosters: Brett Garner- $360, Jesse Hawkins- $200.
Approved a request from Fairview High School to pay the following for coaching, facility and field upkeep, paid by Fairview High School Football Boosters: George Redding, Jr.- $2,500, Josh Davis- $1,700, Ragan Ashley- $1,500, Brett Garner- $1,500, Jesse Hawkins- $1,500, Matt Black- $500.

Approved a request from Good Hope High School to pay Amanda Swann $100 a month for Athletic Director duties.
Approved a request from Good Hope High School to pay the following for working with football, paid by Good Hope High School Quarterback Club: Mitchell Witcher- $500, Patrick McDonald- $1,300, Matthew McCulloch- $1,500.
Approved a request from Hanceville High School to pay the following $500 for AMSTI training, paid by local school funds: Phamie Brown, Lexi Lynn.
Approved August 2018 financial statements.
Approved August 2018 bills and salaries in the amount of $8,715,198.77.
Approved a request from the Child Nutrition Department for the Child Adult Care Food Program/ At-Risk Program to be implemented at Good Hope Primary School.
Approved a request for the Child Nutrition Department to declare old serving lines that have been replaced at Holly Pond, West Point High and West Point Middle as surplus items to be auctioned off.
Approved a request of Contract Change Order #2- Vinemont High School Reroofing and Renovations, Sales Tax Exempt Certificate for Materials ($858.80).
Approved Maintenance Department’s Bid #20-18- West Point Elementary Roofing and Renovation QZAB, A&S Electrical Contractors, Inc., $942,500.
Approved a request from the Cullman County Education Association for two days professional leave for their elected delegates to attend the 2018 AEA Delegate Assembly in Montgomery on Nov. 29 through Dec. 1 and half-day substitutes on Thursday to be paid by the general fund: Sheila Mitchell, Selena Skipper, Lynn Bradford, Shannon Bridges, Keith Kugler, Carol Cline, Alana Twilley, Ramona Bryant, Tammy Whittle. Possible substitutions for the following alternates: Connie Hilton, Janet Turner, Jennifer Carmack, Brandy Jett.
Approved the Individual School Continuous Improvement Plans.
The Cullman County School Board will next meet on Nov. 15 in the Central Office Board Room at 6 p.m., with a work session beginning at 5:30 p.m.
