Cullman High School Theatre group to present one-act plays tonight

The Cullman High School theatre troupe will present a night of comedy one-act plays at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 8, at the school’s auditorium. Plays are “Over the River and Through the Woods,” “Plaza Suites,” and “Here We Are.”

Over the River and Through the Woods by Joe Dipietro: One for the ages, this comedy is about a young man desperate to be his own person but can’t foresee getting away from his nagging Italian grandparents. They are known for babying him and going off on rants about him getting married. A hilarious comedy about life and aging.

Plaza Suites, A Visitor From Forest Hills by Neil Simon: A young woman, nervous to be married, hides in the bathroom of the famous Plaza Hotel. Her concerned parents plead with her to come out in this play filled with a roller coaster of emotions.

Here We Are by Dorothy Parker: A young woman on her wedding night is terribly nervous about the events to come, While her facetious husband is as eager as anything to get to their destination. Follow them on their comical journey through their newlywed evening.

Door fee is $5, with all proceeds benefiting the school’s theatre program.
