With a full schedule of spring programing in bloom, Alabama Agriplex has offerings for everyone — from tot to adult — during the next few months. A full listing is below, and for more information visit agriplex.org.

Thurs. April 3, 9-11 a.m., Heritage Homeschool Elementary – Three Billy Goats Gruff. Sneak past the mean troll and gather in the grassy meadow as guests discuss the story and visit with some real live goats. $15 per student, max $30 per family.

Thurs. April 10, 6-8 p.m., Heritage Skills – Make and Take Planter with Leldon. Leldon Maxcy will bring his tools so guests can build a cedar planting box just in time for spring planting. Youth, ages 12 to 15 must register and be accompanied with a paid registered adult. $30 per person.

Tues. April 8, 6-8 p.m., Living Landscapes – Reptiles with Green Snake Reptile. Celebrate Earth month with Green Snake Reptile bringing a diverse array of snakes, turtles and more. $20 per family.

Sat. April 12, 9-10:30 a.m., Farm Kids Club – Super Strawberries. The Strawberry Festival is around the corner and the Agriplex is ready to share what makes strawberries so special. $15 per child, max $30 per family.

Fri. April 11, 10-11 a.m., Little Farmers – The Easter Egg. Jan Brett is a renowned author illustrator whose books have been loved by many for decades. Each month, programs will center storytime, stations, craft and snack around a different Jan Brett book. $8 per child, max $16 per family.

Thurs. April 17, 6 p.m., Military Veteran & Beginning Farmer – One Picture at a Time. Where one picture can tell a story, one video can teach a lifestyle, one moment changes a perspective. Learn how to share your farm with the community and world with what you have to offer with easy to follow steps that will increase your followers/customers and give you the platform needed to be successful.

Thurs. April 24, 6-8 p.m., Heritage Skills – Fermenting Foods. Get ready to dive into the world of tangy, tasty and tantalizing flavors in a fermented foods class with Matthew Schumacher. Explore the magic of fermentation and learn how to create delicious and healthy foods right in your kitchen. Youth ages 12 to 15 are welcome and must register and be accompanied with a paid registered adult. $15 per person.

Thur. May 1, 9-11 a.m., Heritage Homeschool Elementary – One Room Schoolhouse.
Go back in time and experience what it was like to go to school in the early 1900s at the Red Hill Schoolhouse. $15 per person, max $30 per family.

Thur. May 1, 12-2 p.m., Heritage Homeschool Secondary – The Age of Foraging. Master forager Darryl Patton will shine a light on the art of gathering wild, edible plants. Learn to identify local flora, understand sustainable harvesting practices and discover the culinary uses of wild ingredients. $20 per person.

Thurs. May 2-3 6-8 p.m., Heritage Skills – Barn Quilt Painting. Join Alabama Barn Quilt Trail founder, Regina Painter and her son, Jeremy, for a colorful, hands-on workshop. With more than 16 unique designs to choose from, this class is perfect for anyone looking to add a personal touch to their home or garden. Cost: $120 per 2×2 Block. Tues. May 6, 6-8 p.m., Living Landscapes – Improving Wildlife Habitat On Your Property. Jessie Taylor, Biologist with Quail Forever, will be speaking about improving existing plant communities to increase available wildlife habitat.

Wed. May 7, 12-1 p.m., Lunch & Learn – Making Small Changes for your health, Healthy Swaps. Kay Albritton shares tips for healthy adaptations in body and homes by incorporating small changes in everyday activities. Navigate these adjustments by using items/foods that gardeners already have access to and basic knowledge of how they work. $10 per person.

Fri. May 9, 10-11 a.m., Little Farmers – Mossy. Jan Brett is a renowned author illustrator whose books have been loved by many for decades. Each month, storytime, stations, craft and snack will center around a different Jan Brett book. $8 per child, max $16 per family.

Sat. May 10, 9-10:30 a.m., Farm Kids Club – Talley-Ho Farms at the Agriplex. The Talley family is coming to Tally Ho Street with a crew of special guests. Come hear what it’s like to care for a farm full of unique animals. $15 per child, max $30 per family.

Thurs. May 15, 6 p.m., Military Veteran & Beginning Farmer – Resources for Beginning Farmers. USDA agencies, Extension, RC&D and Grant Opportunities.
