City schools students to visit CNN headquarters

Cullman City Schools sixth grade gifted classes will be taking a trip to Atlanta after the Cullman City School Board approved their out-of-state field trip request.
The trip to CNN headquarters will be for students from the East and West Elementary gifted students, and will take place on April 26.
In other business, the board:
- Approved Jan. 15 meeting minutes
- Approved January 2019 payroll of $1,984,865.27, invoices paid of $1,109,894.97, financial statements and bank reconciliations.
- Approved the following Cullman City Head Start items:
- Expenditures report for January 2019.
- Health/Nutrition/Disabilities/Enrollment Report for January 2019.
- SF425 Federal Financial Report- quarter ending Dec. 31, 2018.
- Eligibility, Recruitment, Selection, Enrollment and Attendance.
- Eligibility Priority Criteria.
- Gave permission for Cullman City Primary School to surplus one Sanyo TV with remote.
- Gave permission to surplus/salvage the following items from the Technology Department: 16 old SMART boards, eight viouce over IP phones, three document cameras, Dell Optiplex 620, Dell Optiplex 980, CNP Point of Sale computer, Epson projector and three old model NEC projectors.
- Gave permission to surplus unused wrestling mats from Cullman High School.
- Approved revised board policy 6.24 Student Harassment Prevention Act to 6.24 Jamari Terrell Williams Student Bullying Prevention Act.
- Adopted the Tax Election Resolution for the special election to be held on March 19.
- Approved the 2018/2019 Cullman City Head Start 1.77 percent COLA Supplemental Application in the amount of $17,100.
- Approved the Cullman City Head Start community partnership agreement with Victim Services for the 2019-2020 school year.
- Gave permission to contract with Jessica Williams during the summer of 2019 to clean floors, carpets and various duties at Cullman City Primary School to prepare for the 2019-2020 school year (local school funds).
- Gave permission to contract with M’Kori Johnson during the summer of 2019 to conduct kindergarten screenings and process new enrollment at Cullman City Primary School (Title One/local school funds).
- Gave permission to contract with Jennifer Sparkman in the summer of 2019 to conduct kindergarten screenings and process new enrollment at Cullman City Primary School (Title One/local school funds).
- Gave permission to contract with Amanda Tanner during the summer of 2019 to assist with kindergarten placement, Title One Continuing Improvement Plan and professional development at Cullman City Primary School (Title One funds).
- Gave permission to contract with Tera Cabri during the summer of 2019 to help develop and update Title One plan, conduct kindergarten screenings and placement at Cullman City Primary School.
- Gave permission to contract with Sabrina Yarbrough during the summer of 2019 to clean floors and various duties to prepare Cullman City Primary School for the 2019-2020 school year (CCPS and Head Start funds).
- Gave permission to contract with LeAnn Miller to assist with enrollment and other clerical duties during the summer of 2019 at Cullman City Primary School (Head Start funds).
- Gave permission to contract with Jacob Miller to clean floors, carpets, move furniture and maintain the landscaping at CCPS during the summer of 2019 (Head Start funds).
- Gave permission to contract with Julie Murphree, Ann Davis and Sabrina Yarbrough to strip, wax and buff the floors at Central Office during the summer of 2019.

- Kristen Brown, kindergarten teacher at Cullman City Primary School, requesting maternity leave beginning approximately April 8 through Jan. 3, 2020.
- Cheryl Potter, speech language pathologist at Cullman City Primary School, requesting an unpaid leave of absence for May 21-24.
- Jordan Harris, first grade teacher at Cullman City Primary School, requesting unpaid leave for Feb. 22.

- Teresa Moore Powers, temporary instructional assistant at West Elementary School (to fill a leave of absence) beginning Jan. 7 through May 14.
- Leisha Johnson, four-hour CNP worker at West Elementary School, effective Feb. 19.
