The Cullman Regional Foundation will recognize the life and career of Dr. Bob Echols, who died earlier this year, at the 5:30 p.m. event on Dec. 6 at the hospital.

The annual Dr. Herman C. Ensor Lights of Love Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony will be held in the Col. Cullmann Room.

Echols worked in the emergency room of Cullman Regional and worked there for 20 years as part of a 44-year medical career. He also served as an elder at Cullman Church of Christ. He died Sept. 3.

Echols also worked in medical missions in Guatemala and Honduras, and helped start the Good Samaritan Clinic for indigent patients in Cullman County

Giving a gift of love for $20, $40, $60 or more places a light on the Christmas tree as a tribute to someone special. The tax-deductible gifts will help support the Foundation’s mission of advancing healthcare services at Cullman Regional.

Special acknowledgement cards are sent to those who have been honored and to the families of those being remembered. All community members and contributors are invited to the tree lighting ceremony to view a presentation of the names of those being honored.

Christmas music will be performed by First Baptist Church Ladies Ensemble and Children’s Choir. The evening will conclude with the lighting of the Christmas tree. Light refreshments will be served during and after the ceremony.

Donations may be contributed throughout the entire holiday season and gifts received by Monday, Dec. 3 will be included in the special ceremony. Contributions may be made in memory or in honor of someone special in your life.
