Wallace State to host Forum on Leadership as part of National Women’s History Month

In recognition of National Women’s History Month, Wallace State Community College announces it will host a Forum on Leadership on Thursday, at 9:30 a.m., in the Bailey Center Auditorium.

A number of women in leadership roles will share their thoughts on leadership, success, and what it takes to break the glass ceiling, including Wallace State Community College President Dr. Vicki Karolewics; WSCC Future Foundation board member and State Farm agent Shirley Quattlebaum; Cullman County Probate Judge Tammy Brown; leading economic developer and consultant Peggy Smith, currently serving as Strategic Plan Coordinator at the Cullman Area Chamber of Commerce; SkillsUSA National Officer and Wallace State student Maci Key; and Cullman Area Chamber of Commerce President Leah Bolin.

The event, sponsored by the Wallace State Diversity Committee, Learning Communities, and Burrow Museum is open to all.

The 2018 Theme for National Women’s History Month is “Nevertheless, She Persisted: Honoring Women Who Fight All Forms of Discrimination Against Women.” Throughout this year, the National Women’s History Project will honor 15 outstanding women for their unrelenting and inspirational persistence, and for understanding that, by fighting all forms of discrimination against women and girls, they have shaped America’s history and our future. Their lives demonstrate the power of voice, of taking action, and of believing that meaningful and lasting change is possible in our democratic society.
