The Alabama Department of Transportation has two projects today (Thursday) that will affect motorists in north Jefferson County.

ALDOT will conduct another series of rolling roadblocks today on Interstate 65 through the I-22 construction zone. The roadblocks will start at Fieldstown Road in Gardendale at 9 a.m. and end around 3 p.m. so that workers can install bridge girders at the new I-22 interchange in north Birmingham.

In Pinson, Alabama 75 will be reduced to one lane in both directions near Clay Palmerdale Road today and continuing through Saturday. The closure is about three miles northeast of the center of Pinson.

This closure is so that workers can install new drainage structure at the interchange for the new Northern Beltline.

This closure is not expected to adversely affect traffic for the Alabama Butterbean Festival on Friday night and Saturday.
