Hey y’all, it’s Wednesday…

Weather: Good today, iffy tomorrow. Sunny today with a high near 80, and mostly clear tonight with lows in the upper 50s. Rain starts to move in tomorrow, with a 20 percent chance of scattered afternoon showers and storms and highs in the middle 80s. Rain chances increase to 40 percent tomorrow night, with lows in the lower 60s.

The task force reports. A group of seven people appointed by the Jefferson County Board of Education, tasked with finding more ways for the system to save money, will present their report to the board in a special meeting this morning. The task force was formed in response to major cutbacks proposed by Supt. Dr. Craig Pouncey and approved by the board last month.

Sports: Blue Devils golfer does well at state finals. Garrett Johnson finished in third place individually at the AHSAA Class 5A State Golf Championships, which finished Tuesday at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trial’s Magnolia Grove course in Mobile. Johnson shot an even-par 72 in the first round and a 73 in the second, for a 1-over 145 for the tournament.
