Police search for stolen marked cruiser, firearms

BERKELEY SPRINGS, W. Va. — Officers in West Virginia are searching for a marked police vehicle that was reportedly stolen Tuesday morning.

A spokesman for the West Virginia State Police said the marked 2014 Ford Interceptor was reported stolen at about 8:30 a.m.

The Charleston Gazette reported the vehicle was stolen by a handcuffed person during a traffic stop in Morgan County, West Virginia. 

The vehicle has blue and gold state police markings and contains a Smith & Wesson AR-15 and a 12-gauge shotgun.

A Morgan County 911 dispatcher was unable to provide any information about the matter.

“I can’t talk about it,” he said.

State police at Berkeley Springs declined to provide any information on the matter early Tuesday afternoon.
