Local golfers Kyle Sapp, Zack Sucher have good April on pro tours

Two local pro golfers had good outings lately on their respective tours.
Kyle Sapp won at the Dothan stop on the Emerald Coast Tour, a mini-tour based mainly in the Florida Panhandle and south Alabama. Sapp shot a final-round 5-under-par 67 to win by two shots. He took home a check for $7,000.
Sapp also placed third last weekend in the tour stop at Tallahassee, Fla., to pocket $1,300.
Sapp’s old Emerald Coast Tour playing buddy, Zack Sucher, finished in a three-way tie for second place at the Web.com Tour stop in Valdosta. That tour is a level below the PGA Tour, with the top 25 in earnings each year getting a tour card (or an automatic promotion for three wins in a year).
Sucher, who married Courtney Masters Sucher of Gardendale and moved here from Mobile, went on a tear in the final round Sunday. He shot a 6-under-par 30 on the front nine that included an eagle.
It was Sucher’s first Web.com tour event since 2011. He won $48,533.
