Searborn “Buddy” Camp

Searborn “Buddy” Camp, 63 of Morris, passed away on April 22, 2012. He was preceded in death by his parents Ruben W. Camp Sr. and Doris Dunning Camp; two brothers, Richard and Ruben Camp Jr.; sister, Patricia Lawrence; son, Rick Camp and granddaughter, Kayli Lopez.

He is survived by his wife Sharon Camp, Otis Camp; sister, Doris Hamilton; sons, Seebie Camp (Jill), Andrew Brown (Bailey); daughters, Angie Roddy (Chris), Wendy Lopez and April Daugherty (Justin); grandchildren, Aaron Camp, Devon Camp, Brian Roddy, David Taylor, Alex Camp, Richard Camp, Juliann Hicks, Shelby Camp, Rikki Camp, Landon Daugherty, Autumn Daugherty and a host of nieces and nephews.  

Buddy was an avid bowler and won many bowling awards thru the years. Buddy was also an avid Braves fan. He was the founder and lead guitarist of the Camp Meeting Singers. He was an excellent guitarist and bassist, being members of both the Alabama Bluegrass Music Association and the Bluegrass Gospel Association. Buddy traveled from Alabama to Indiana to play and sing primarily gospel music.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday evening at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel at 7 p.m. with visitation from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. Graveside service will be held on Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at 1 p.m. at Bangor Cemetery in Bangor.
