Harold Jarvis, a Gardendale veteran who served as a Marine pharmacist’s mate in World War II, stands alongside his wife as the Mortimer Jordan High band plays the national anthem during a Veterans Day program Thursday. Jarvis spoke at several local schools this week about his experiences in the Pacific Theater during the war.
