Kimberly IGA closes, future uncertain

Although there are no signs on the building indicating the store’s closure, the IGA supermarket in Kimberly has locked doors, bare shelves and a mostly empty parking lot.

One employee, who asked to remain anonymous, said he still doesn’t know what the owners of the store are planning to do with the business.

Rumors of the store’s closing came after IGA stopped accepting coupons and began giving a 30 percent discount to customers paying with cash, as well as an earlier closing time and dwindling stock.

Store owners Daniel Stone and Tracy Crane could not be reached for comment as of press deadline on Tuesday.
