Thanks to those who took part in Memorial Day ceremony

Published 4:00 pm Friday, June 4, 2010

We hope everyone enjoyed the veterans ceremony on Memorial Day. We need to be thankful for our military every day, not just a few select days. We are so blessed to be Americans and to be free. We have our freedom because we have men and women who willingly put their life on the line every day for all of us. For all they do, I thank them.

• I would like to ask everyone to please keep your grass and weeds cut. We are receiving numerous calls on people not keeping their yards maintained and rodents and mosquitoes bothering those who do. This is a real nuisance and it makes the communities look bad. So, please do your part to help keep your neighborhood nice. Also, the continued nuisance of dogs running loose, getting into others garbage and using others yards as their bathroom. If most of you are like me, I do not appreciate having to clean up after someone else’s dog. Please be considerate of your neighbors.
