Marie Wilson Long, age 77 of Pinson passed away Friday, July 24, 2009. She was a lifetime member of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Pinson and was the pianist for more than 50 years. Survivors include her husband, James Wilson Long; sons: Neal (Sharon) Long and Gary (Melinda) Long; daughter, Sandra Long; grandchildren: Stephanie and Megan Long, Anthony (Kristy) Long and Jon Long; sisters-in-law: Ellen Wilson and Lucille Wilson; and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the 5th floor Cardiac Nurses at St. Vincent’s, especially Nurse Liz. Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 27, 2009 at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel with burial in Oakwood Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Sunday from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to Oak Grove Baptist Church, Pinson, AL. Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel is directing.
