Be at Black Creek Park on Tuesday for “Family Movie Night in the Park.” The movie, “Mad-agascar 2,” will begin at sundown. Admis-sion is free, so bring your lounge chairs or blankets, and sit back and enjoy.

• I would like to say a word to all the bloggers and the negative people that have an axe to grind with our fire department concerning the recent fire at the Drop Zone. The fire department was at the Drop Zone within five minutes of the call. I would be proud to have the fire department respond if something happened to me or my family.

• Ronald Mc Donald will be at the Fultondale McDonald’s today at 2 p.m. for a magic show. Come on out and meet Grimace and the Hamburglar and win prizes. The Fultondale store is celebrating its one-year anniversary and we are so proud to have them. On Saturday and Sunday they will be selling sausage biscuits for 69 cents each, hamburgers for 49 cents and cheeseburgers for 69 cents each, but it applies only to dine-in customers.

• The “Cruise In” will be the fourth Saturday of each month at the Ashley Furniture Parking Lot. We are sure you will have a great time checking out the older cars and listening to oldies music.

• Our heartfelt sympathies go to the Dismukes Family in the death of Mr. Fred Dismukes. He was a lifelong resident of Fultondale. Please remember his family in your prayers.

• A happy belated birthday wish to Councilman Billy Howell on June 26.

• A happy belated birthday wish to Mr. Leslie Shipp, the general manager of the Fultondale Gas Department, on June 30. We hope he had a great birthday.

• A happy belated birthday wish to Ronnie Vaughn, son of Dot and Willie Vaughn, on June 30. Donny turned the BIG “50.” Sorry, but it happens to the best of us.

• A happy belated birthday wish to Darrell Bates, superintendent to the Fultondale Street Department, on July 1.

• A happy belated birthday wish to our Fire Chief, Larry Holcomb on July 4. We knew he was a firecracker, but did not realize just how much.

• Congratulations to Kenny Peoples on being a new grandfather. His daughter Kendall is the proud mom of a baby boy, Zaron. Proud great-grandparents are Dorothy and Bobby Byrd.

• A special happy 62nd anniversary wish to Rubin and Nell Gray on July 12th. We hope they have many more years of happiness together.

Remember if you have news, anniversaries or birthdays, let me know.
