Classified deadline change

The North Jefferson News will be closed on Monday to observe the Memorial Day holiday. Classified advertising deadlines for the Wednesday, May 27, edition will be moved to Friday, May 22 at noon.

Council meeting moved

The Fultondale City Council has changed its meeting date from May 25 to May 26 at 11:30 a.m. because of the Memorial Day holiday.

Legion to host barbecue fund-raiser this week

American Legion Post No. 255 will have its annual Memorial holiday barbecue sale fund-raiser Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The sale is from noon until about dark each day at the post at 1500 Decatur Highway in Fultondale. Prices are as follows: Butts, $28; slabs, $18; barbecue by pound, $10; barbecue plate, $7; rib plate, $7.50; barbecue sandwich, $3.50; rib sandwich, $4; sides, $2. There is also sauce for sale.



Gardendale

Rotary Club announces scholarship recipients

The Gardendale Rotary Club recently presented four $1,000 scholarships to north Jefferson County seniors. Those who received the scholarships were: Solana N. Johnson, Fultondale High School; Timothy Busby, Gardendale High School; Autumn Hambright, Corner High School; and Caroline Edwards, Mortimer Jordan High School.
