Anngeleen Thomas Kyles
Anngeleen Thomas Kyles, 68, passed away Sept. 29, 2007 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem, N.C. She was born May 2, 1939 in Warrior to the late Kendrall and Janie Miller Thomas. Ms. Kyles was a loving mother, grandmother and mother-in-law. Her family was the center of her life. She made their interests her interests and enjoyed all they were involved in. She also loved her pet birds and the wild birds she fed at her home. She kept up with many sports and was a big Atlanta Braves fan. Ms. Kyles is survived by: two daughters, Cathy Huhn (Tracy) of Rural Hall, N.C. and Karen Bryant of Walkertown, N.C.; two sons, Jeff Kyles (Michele) of Winston-Salem, N.C. and Frank Kyles Jr of Creedmoor, N.C.; seven grandchildren, Kimberly, Joshua, Jacob, Jennifer, Zachary, Brandon and Shaun; two great-grandchildren, Samantha and Halie; three brothers, William (Shirley) of Trussville, James (Gail) of Warrior, Robert Thomas (Marie-Madeleine) of Alamogordo, N.M.; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends. Memorial services were held at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall, N.C. with Rev. Scott Venable officiating. Flowers were accepted or memorial may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
Dorothy “Dot” Townes
Dorothy “Dot” Townes, age 78 of Gardendale passed away on Oct. 4, 2007. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church and she was a member of the first catholic congregation in north Jefferson County, St. Edwards. Survivors include: her husband, Robert “Bob” Townes, Jr.; sons, Robert (Barbara) Townes III, Gary N. (Debbie) Townes, Chris (Sherrie) Townes; daughters, Susan Townes Carter (Huel), Linda Townes Piteo (Robert) and Janice Townes LeSeur (Steve); 14 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Services will be held today at 10 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton with Father Michael Deering and Father Roy Keised officiating. The family would like to extend a special word of thanks to the staff at Sunbridge of Gardendale for the special care they provided. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Treatment and Research Center at 640 Jackson St., St. Paul, Minn. 55101.
