The Burkett Center for the multi-handicapped school will host its 13th annual charity golf tournament on Sept. 21 at Highland Park Golf Course. This tournament is their biggest fund-raiser. Proceeds are used to purchase therapeutic equipment, classroom supplies and instructional materials for the students at Burkett. It will be a four-man scramble with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. The cost is $85 per golfer and $320 per team. Lunch will be provided. For more info, you can contact Lou Ann Cornelius at 379-2800.

• Bryan fifth-grade students will have a field trip to Greenbriar Golf Course the week of Sept. 24. They are in need of putters, golf bags, wiffle golf balls, bottled water and experienced golfers to help manage, supervise and instruct. If you can help out, please let the school know.
