Addie B. Ray
Funeral services for Addie B. Ray, 94, of Vinemont will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 18, 2006, at Moss-Service Funeral Chapel, the Rev. Billy Wooten officiating, with burial in Flint Creek Cemetery.
Moss-Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Ray died Sunday, July 16 at Cullman Health Care.
Lee Roy ‘Potty’ Bowman
Funeral services for Lee Roy “Potty” Bowman, 83, of Hanceville will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 18, 2006, at New Union Baptist Church, the Revs. Donald Lee Abbott and Robert Earl Bromley, with burial in Garden City Cemetery.
Hanceville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Bowman died Saturday, July 15 in Birmingham. He was born on May 2, 1923, in Rock Springs to Monroe and Velma Helton Bowman.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers, Ray, Ulyess and Billy Bowman.
Survivors include two daughters, Janell Stegall of Walter and Karessa Bowman of Hanceville; a son, Tim Bowman of Hanceville; four grandchildren, Brian Loggins, Amanda Jackson, Stevie Echols Sharp and Brandon Swann; three great-grandchildren, Aleeya and Cheyenne Loggins and Sadie Sharp; and a brother, Johnny Bowman of Mobile.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Cancer Foundation.
Visitation was Monday.
Estle “Myrtie” Jordan Hogland
Funeral services for Estle “Myrtie” Jordan Hogland, 89, of Augusta, Ga., will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 18, 2006, at Hanceville Funeral Home Chapel, Dr. Roland Galloway officiating, with burial in the Arkadelphia Cemetery.
Hanceville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Hogland died Friday, July 14, 2006, at Augusta, Ga. She was born on June 19, 1917, in Cullman to Issac and Flossie Wood.
She was a 50-year resident of Augusta, Ga.
Mrs. Hogland was preceded in death by her husband, Talmadge Hogland; two daughters, Willodean McCorkel and Sherry Egan; a son, Terry Dean Hogland; a granddaughter, Monica McCorkel; and her parents.
Survivors include five sons, Ronald (Shirley) Hogland of Augusta, Ga.; Ray (Mary) Hogland of Hanceville; Roland (Eunice) Hogland of Augusta, Ga.; Roy Lee (Judy) Hogland of Augusta, Ga.; and Glenn (Jeannie) Hogland of Augusta, Ga.; three daughters, Patricia Ann Tucker of Augusta, Ga.; Gwen Hogland of Augusta, Ga.; and Frances (Alfred) Goad of Lincolnton, Ga.; 24 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren, eight great-great-grandchildren, and son-in-law Ron Egan of Augusta, Ga.
Visitation was Monday.
James Joyce Casad
Funeral services for James Joyce Casad, 87, of Dodge City, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 19, 2006, at Hanceville Funeral Home Chapel, the Rev. David McDonald officiating with burial in Bethlehem Cemetery.
Hanceville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Casad died Saturday, July 15, 2006, at Cullman. He was born on March 25, 1919, in Detroit, Mich., to John Calvin and Mary Elizabeth (Fraley) Casad.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Casad served three years in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Lynell Casad of Dodge City; four grandchildren, Dwayne Casad, Tina Smithson, Jennifer Casad, and Becky Casad; and five great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Jesse Baker, Dwayne Casad, Bobby Duke, Jason Burney, Wayne McDonald, and Paul McDonald.
Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. today at Hanceville Funeral Home.
Mary Davis
Funeral services for Mary Davis, 53, of Cold Springs, will at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 18, 2006, at Hanceville Funeral Home Chapel, Bro. Dwight Evans officiating, with burial in Corinth Cemetery.

Mrs. Smith died Saturday, July 15, 2006, at Cold Springs. She was born Nov. 4, 1952, in Cullman County, to B.B. and Rosa Lee (Shikles) Meadows.
She was married on Dec. 15, 1978 (27 years this past December).
Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Bruce Meadows.
Survivors include her husband, J.W. Davis of Cold Springs, a daughter, Kim (Jimmy) Hodges of Walker County, a sister, Gail (Wayne) Dingler of Valley Grove, one niece and three nephews and a special dog, Sparky.
Visitation was Monday.
Ezma Loyd Johnson
Funeral services for Ezma Loyd Johnson, 87, of the Duck River community, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 18, 2006, at Duck River Baptist Church, the Revs. Sherman Bailey and Marvin Loyd officiating, with burial in Duck River Cemetery. The body will lie in state one hour prior to services.

Mrs. Johnson died Monday, July 17 at Hanceville Nursing Home. She was born on Aug. 14, 1918, in Cullman County to William Thomas and Julia Ann Skinner Loyd. She was a retired seamstress with Cullman Lingerie after 33 years. She was a member of Duck River Baptist Church for over 40 years, and was in the East Cullman Choir Association. She loved to quilt and sew. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother and a devoted caregiver to friends and neighbors.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Johnson; her parents, William and Julia Skinner Loyd; a son, Alton G. Johnson; three brothers, Edgar Loyd, Earnie Loyd and Elige Loyd; and four sisters, Gertrude Keese, Theresa Waldrop, Daisy Boren and Hattie Belle Sutton.
Survivors include two sons, Albert Johnson Jr. of Cullman and Keith (Danette) Johnson of Holly Pond; a daughter, Mazine Johnson Ray of Vinemont; a sister, Olma Thornton of Franklin, Tenn.; six grandchildren, Lynn Johnson, Gary (Christina) Johnson, Christie (Matthew) Rutherford, Justin (Mandy) Ray, Shawn (Linda) Johnson and Nathan Johnson; four great-grandchildren, Bethany Johnson, Andrew (Sydney) Rutherford, Regan Johnson and Natalie Johnson; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Shawn Johnson, Nathan Johnson, Justin Ray, Matthew Rutherford, Lynn Johnson and Gary Johnson.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to noon today at the funeral home.
