Happy Easter to everyone! If you attend church only once this year, you need to do so this Sunday. Easter is about the resurrection of Jesus Christ, not the Easter bunny, baskets or egg hunts. I am not saying that I don’t enjoy those things myself, but we need to celebrate life what we have been given.

• The Easter Egg Hunt, sponsored by the American Legion, will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Black Creek Park.

• As most of you know, this time of year we sell pictures to raise money for the fire department. They should be out in approximately three weeks to collect a donation and you can get your picture made. We want to remind residents if you give the donation, please have your picture taken or let someone else use the coupon. These are great pictures and it benefits a great cause. You can have your animals photographed, too.

• The antique car show will be April 25 in the Target parking lot. It is a lot of fun, so come on out and enjoy a fun-filled afternoon and you can shop while you are there.

• Mark your calendars for the 81st-annual Fultondale Stampede 5K run on June 20 at Walkers Chapel Baptist Church at 8 a.m. This run benefits the Fultondale Volunteer Fire Department and is sponsored by Fultondale Gas. For more information, contact Sammy Morris at 849-5740.

• Fultondale VFW Post 10250 will be making a $500 donation to the Fultondale senior citizens. A special thanks to them. The VFW and American Legion do a lot of good things in the city, so don’t forget to thank them.

• Owners of potentially vicious animals must register the animal with the city or face a fine.

• Happy belated birthday wishes to Chuck Reedy of the police department on April 3. We hope he had a great birthday.

• Special birthday wishes go to Steven Kiley Coalburn of the Fultondale street department on April 11. He does a great job and we hope he has a great birthday.

• Remember if you have news, anniversaries, birthdays or reunions let me know.
