Hayden 9th in state girls basketball poll

The Alabama Sports Writers Association has released its statewaide first high school basketball polls of the season, and Hayden’s girls team is in it again.

The Wildcats are ranked ninth in Class 5A in the poll, released Thursday morning.

Hayden currently sports a 6-2 record. Both of the losses came when the Cats were without the services of junior point guard Melissa Stricklin for part or all of the game. Stricklin is averaging 28 points per game.

Hayden was ranked in the poll for much of last season.
