Cullman Primary Care PC, and Wallace State Community College are offering a second annual Community Health Fair Thursday.
The fair, which is a free event, will be held from 9 a.m.- 2 p.m. in the Bailey Center at Wallace State, event spokeswoman Brandi Bach said. Weight and height checks, screenings for blood pressure, blood sugar and osteoporosis will be offered. Body fat checks will also be available.
“We just hope to have a very successful event, and we hope that everyone in the community will come out and get these screenings,” Bach said.
The Health Fair is sponsored by Cullman Primary Care P.C. and Wallace State Wellness Center. Bach said this year’s event will be the second health fair hosted in partnership with Wallace State.
“Last year was the first one, and it went over so well we decided to make it an annual event,” she said. “I know last year we had about 350 [ people who attended the Health Fair,] so we’re expecting more than that this year.”
Bach said people of all ages attend the event. This year, the local Commission on Aging has been invited to participate, she said.
Programs represented will include Diabetes Education, Smoking Cessation, Weight Loss and the Anti-Aging Program. Other participating organizations include the Cullman County Health Department, Cullman Caring For Kids, SportsFirst and Avon.
Bach said additional information can be obtained by contacting 736-2273.
