Weather is the culprit again, as Kimberly City Park’s re-dedication is cancelled
The re-dedication of Kimberly City Park — an event intended to mark the park’s rebirth after heavy damage from last year’s tornado — has fallen victim to the weather, or at least the weather forecast.
The ceremony, which was to be held on Saturday, has been called off because the forecast calls for the likelihood of showers and thunderstorms.
Kimberly City Park suffered damage to playground equipment, picnic shelters and numerous other features. In the subsequent year, the park has been largely rebuilt, much of that work coming from volunteer efforts.
City Clerk Sandy Waid said the event will be re-scheduled, though a date has not been set.
