Adams – Parris wedding

Mallory August Parris and Dr. Joel Clyne Adams were united in marriage on March 12, 2011 at First United Methodist Church in Cullman, Alabama. Reverend Mitchell Williams and Father Patrick Egan officiated the evening ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Lucinda and Doug Harding and Phil and Rhonda Parris of Cullman. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Lillian Nunnelley Johnson and the late Birtis Nunnelley and Nathan Parris and the late Wanda Parris all of Cullman, Alabama.

Parents of the groom are Dr. and Mrs. Clyne Adams of Cullman. He is the grandson of the late Ulmer McKinley Adams and Letha Donald Adams of Gilbertown, Alabama, and the late Albert Thomas Fromhold and Lillian Rutherford Fromhold of Cullman, Alabama.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a white silk chiffon and silk dupioni circular cut gown with a classic sweetheart neckline and a draped waist and gathered bodice. The back was accented with an askew bow at center atop a chapel length train. Her cathedral length veil was trimmed with crystal beading highlighting their family monogram attached by a diamond and pearl comb and tiara. The bride carried a garden mix bouquet of pink peonies, hydrangea blossoms, and celosia wrapped with satin ribbon.

Matrons of honor were Cindy Freeman of Cullman and Kristen Peterson of Birmingham both childhood friends of the bride. Bridesmaids were Lee Adams of Cullman, sister in law of the groom; Victoria Wells of Montgomery, sister of the groom; Ashley Ginn of Cartersville, Georgia, friend of the bride; Casey Grier of Cullman, friend of the bride; Danza McAbee and Claire Whitmore both of Guntersville, friends of the bride. The attendants wore black satin taffeta dresses of personal design and carried pink garden mix bouquets.

Flower girls were Katherine Peterson of Birmingham, special friend of the bride; Ruth Adams of Cullman, Alabama and Lillian Claire Wells, of Montgomery, Alabama, both nieces of the groom.

Memory box carriers were John William Peterson, of Birmingham, special friend of the bride and Walter Adams, nephew of the groom.

The father of the groom, Dr. Clyne Adams, served as the best man. Groomsmen were Rex Adams, brother of the groom and Stephen Freeman, friend of the groom, both of Cullman, Alabama; Jason Wells, brother in law of the groom, of Montgomery, Alabama; Jason Cuevas, cousin of the groom, of Atlanta, Georgia; Jason Farley of St Augustine, Florida, Dr. David Cherry, of Birmingham, Alabama and Dr. Brock Martin of Meridian, Mississippi, all friends of the groom.

Program attendants were Lauren Ryder Harding, sister in law of the bride, and Katie Shirey, childhood friend of the bride.

Wedding music was provided by Lisa Marsh, organist and Penny Adair, violinist. Leigh Ann Lambert and Pat Dunn directed the wedding.

Following the ceremony a reception was held at The Rotunda in the Warehouse District. Designs by Grace catered the celebration, Creative Cakes of Cullman provided the wedding cake, Steve Brannon of Fairview Florist designed the floral arrangements for both the church and reception and Ann Wade Parrish of Birmingham was the photographer. The couple and friends danced the night away to the tunes of Randal Key and his band Soul Society.

Following a honeymoon in Belize the couple resides in Cullman, Alabama, where Mrs. Adams teaches second grade at West Elementary and Dr. Adams practices dentistry.
