PREP FOOTBALL: Cullman blanks Columbia 48-0

Cullman eased past Columbia on Thursday night, collecting a 48-0 triumph at Milton Frank Stadium.
The Bearcats improved to 2-2 on the season and 2-0 in Class 6A, Region 7 play following the victory.
The Eagles (0-4, 0-2) dropped their 36th straight game.
Max Dueland tossed a touchdown pass to Isaiah Jones to put Cullman up 7-0 early in the first quarter.
Dueland (1 yard) and Jayden Sullins (18 yards) added touchdown runs later in the frame to propel the road team to a commanding 21-0 advantage.
The Bearcats went up 28-0 on Jaylen Hughey’s 61-yard touchdown scamper before JT Blackwood hit Brayden Scroggins from 12 yards out for another score to make it 35-0 heading into halftime.
Blackwood (1 yard) and Jamar Kay (5 yards) garnered touchdown runs in the second half.
Cullman’s defense has now pitched a shutout in three straight seasons.
The Bearcats will host Albertville next Friday night in a non-region matchup.
