Jill Kay Edmondson and Kevin Howell Nelson were united in marriage on October 8, 2011, at St. John’s Evangelical Protestant Church in Cullman, Alabama. Reverend Robert Kurtz officiated the double ring ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. And Mrs. Ronald Edward Edmondson of Cullman, Alabama. She is the granddaughter of Mr. George Gerards and the late Mrs. Christine Gerards and Mrs. Aline Edmondson and the late Mr. Deward Edmondson, all of Cullman, Alabama.

The groom is the son of Mr. And Mrs. Gregory Howell Nelson of Birmingham, Alabama. He is the grandson of the late Mr. And Mrs. William Arnold Bailey and the late Mr. and Mrs. Marcus Herald Nelson, all of Birmingham, Alabama.

Laura Phillips attended the guest book. Program servers were Bailey Acton and Emily Acton. Wedding music was provided by Mary Stevens, organist, and Amy Cotton, vocalist.

The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a formal gown of diamond silk organza richly embellished with beading and embroidery. The gown was fashioned with a sweetheart neckline emphasized by a mock halter. The rusched’ natural waistline swept to an A-line skirt which flowed to a chapel train. Her fingertip veil of illusion was edged with ribbon trim and embellished with crystal beading. She carried a bouquet of hot pink roses wrapped in an heirloom handkerchief with satin ribbons holding both of her grandmothers’ rings.

Callie Ray Smith was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Charlotte McBrayer Edmondson, Julie Jackson Smith, and Kimberly Acton Parker. They wore long black satin dresses accented with fuchsia satin sashes. They carried bouquets of hot pink Gerbera daisies.

Bailey Elisabeth Edmondson and Mary Grace Smith were flower girls. They wore ivory organza dresses with fuchsia satin sashes.

Gregory Howell was best man. Groomsmen were Steven Michael Smith, Daniel James Parker and Graham Acton Parker. Ring bearer was Bennett Scott Edmondson.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Ruehl Building. Servers were Reesa Gerards, Amy Gerards and Katie McBrayer.

Following a wedding trip to Orange Beach, Alabama, the couple resides in Birmingham, Alabama.
