Warrior / Corner / Hayden News: Don’t prune shrubs before they bloom

Garden tip: Always prune flowering shrubs such as azalea and gardenia plants after they bloom. Never prune before they bloom because you will cut away all the new blooms.
Always feed these shrubs with an acidic fertilizer.
• Warrior WaterStone Church will have its Easter Eggstrava-ganza today at 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Warrior Elementary football field. There will be free hot dogs. The Alabama Warriors, a minor-league football team, will be there to sign autographs.
• The Warrior alumni annual reunion banquet will be April 18 at the high-school gym at 3 p.m. Dress casually. Dinner will begin at 5 p.m. This year, the classes of 1939, 1949 and 1959 will be recognized. Call LaFaye Stover for more information at 647-0214.
• Happy birthday greetings go to: Sara Thomas on April 16; Jackie Lowe and daughter Karen on April 20; Tyffney Dyann Smith on April 21; Lynda Crawford and C.J. Bailey on April 23. I hope all of you have a great day and year.
• Happy anniversary goes to C.J. and Pauline Bailey on April 25.
• Remember the fourth Sunday of April is Decoration Day at New Bethel Baptist Church on Warrior-Jasper Road. Gary Creel is the pastor.
• Our country still needs prayer and also the American troops that are in harm’s way.
