Willie Bee (Maw Maw) Purcell, age 80, of Portage, Ind., passed away on Oct. 18, 2007. Funeral services will be held at Messmer-Goodwin Funeral Home on October 24, 2007 at 11 a.m. with burial in Mt. Zion Cemetery. Bro. John Purcell officiating. Visitation was held on Oct. 23, 2007 from 5-8 p.m. at Messmer-Goodwin Funeral Home. She was preceded in death by: her husband Willie Neil Purcell; son, Roger; brothers, Willie Dee Worrdon, and Junior Worrdon; sisters Flora McKay, Aveardean Shadrix and Carlean Calvert. Survivors include: son, Willis N. (Brenda) Purcell of Warrior; daughters, Nettie Poe of Valparaiso, Ind., Rita (Joe) Carlson of Portage, Ind., and Pat (Jack) Dorton of Valparaiso, Ind.; brother-in-law, Jeff Shadrix of Knox, Ind., 13 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
