Elizabeth Perry “Bitsy” Barrett, age 67, was born on Nov. 24, 1940 and died on Jan. 28, 2008. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Mt. Olive. She was a very loving, unselfish and giving person who will be missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her sister, Eva Nell Cain. She is survived by her husband, William H. Barrett; children, Debbie Sorenson (Wayne), Lisa Chamblee (Jerry), William Bishop, Denice Cash, Liz Barrett (Derek Sylvester), William G. Barrett (Patti) and James Barrett (Denise); grandchildren, Jeffrey, Amy, Michael, Nicole, Kayla, Corey, Billy, Amanda, Kelly, Taylor, Tyler and Michael; sisters, Mille Hyche (Paul), Shirley Burrell (Art); brother-in-law, Ralph Cain. Services were held at in the chapel with burial at Oakwood Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to United Cerebral Palsy of Greater Birmingham.
