Corner edges St. Clair twice

The Corner Yellow Jackets and Lady Yellow Jackets won close games against St. Clair County.
The one-point win by the Corner boys improves their 4A, Area 10 record to 3-1, while the girls evened their area record at 2-2.
Corner boys 62,
St. Clair boys 61
B.J. Slatton led Corner (12-6) with 12 points, followed by Kyle Belcher with 10, Adam Norris with nine, Patrick Rhodes with eight, Damon Knox and Jake Eiland had six each, Blake Anderson had five, Seth Hand had four and Cody Green scored two.
Slatton had nine rebounds, four assists and three steals, Belcher had seven rebounds, three blocks and three assists. Norris had six assists and four rebounds, Eiland had six rebounds and Anderson had four steals and four assists.
Corner girls 44,
St. Clair girls 42
Mandy Slatton led Corner (8-7) with 16 points and five assists, followed by Nicole Russell with 12 points and eight rebounds, Ashley Tolbert had five points, Elizabeth Allred had four points and 11 rebounds, Haley Anderson scored four and Preslie Cruce had three points.
Jordan girls 59,
Shelby County girls 44
Ashlee Porter led the Lady Blue Devils with a triple-double. She scored 26 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and handed out 10 assists as Mortimer Jordan improved to 13-2.
Brianna Nation had 11 points, Peyton Davis had eight points and 10 rebounds, Consuela Austin and Ashley Merritt had five points each and Shea Bowman and Elisabeth Naramore scored two each.
Jordan boys 79,

Joey Payton led the way for Jordan (8-7) with 16 points, followed by Patrick Mitchell with 14, Desmond Brown with 12, Brent Nation with 11, Nathan McIntosh with eight, Ryan Densmore with six, Clint Brown scored five, Caesar Bell scored three and Josh Vaughn and John Burrow scored two points each.
Nation and Brown had six assists each.

Tabernacle girls 46
Meghan Hallice led the Lady Torches (9-3) with 21 points, two blocks and 13 rebounds. Candace Coleman had 12 points, two rebounds and two assists. Heather Zassoda had eight points and five rebounds and Savannah Harper scored five.

Daniel Whaley and Landon Ingle led the Torches (9-5) with 12 points each, followed by T.J. Hallice with 10 points and seven rebounds.

Hallice led the way for the Lady Torches (10-3) with 25 points and 15 rebounds. Coleman had 11 points, three rebounds, two steals and three assists. Harper had five points and three rebounds. Zassoda had four points, six rebounds and three steals. Ashley Zassoda had two points.

The Torches (10-5) featured a balanced offense with Whaley scoring 16, Ingle with 15, Hallice with 12, Jonathan White with nine, James Winfield with four and David Sims scored one point.
